ICQ 1995 – 1996 yıllarında İsrailli bir grup Mirabilis tarafından yazılan dünyanın en çok kullanılan anında mesajlaşma programıdır. ICQ ismi İngilizce “I seek you.” (”Seni arıyorum.“) cümlesinin söylenişidir.
ICQ kullanıcıları ardışık sırada dağılmış (söylentilere göre sırada boşluklar vardır), UIN (user identification number) adı verilen numaralarla kimliklendirilirler. Yeni kullanıcılar 100.000.000′un üzerinde numaralar ile kayıt olurlar, ve düşük numaralar (altı veya daha az) ICQ’ya ilk zamanlarda kayıt olmuş kullanıcılar tarafından eBay‘da satılabilmektedir.

AOL, 1998‘de Mirabilis ve ICQ’yu satın almıştır. 2005 yılı itibarı ile ICQ programının beşinci deneme sürümü indirilebilir durumdadır.

ICQ is a program that lets you find your friends and associates online in real time.
